Tesla, in the shape of the charismatic,
if controversial, public face of Elon Musk, was once openly laughed at because
of their fixation on the idea of delivering luxury high-performance electric vehicles.
Yet proving all the doubters
wrong, the company has delivered a range of vehicles that have left many other
far larger manufacturers around the world struggling desperately to catch
up.
History
Contrary to
some erroneous assumptions, Elon Musk did not found the initial company
originally called Tesla Motors.
In fact, its
original founders invited investors into the organisation at a time when it was
clear that further funding was required.
Musk was one of those and he and the others subsequently negotiated the
right to call themselves co-founders.
Whatever the
origins and historical disputes that have arisen in that respect, Musk quickly
became the public face of Tesla and was famous for making what, at the time,
appeared to be entirely unrealistic predictions about what the company was
going to do with electric cars in the future. He and his company were widely
ridiculed for their claims.
The Model-S
first shipped to customers in 2012 and was a revelation in terms of its
performance and range. The Model-X
arrived in 2015 with the Model-3 being unveiled in 2016.
Tesla’s story
in terms of technical innovation and its contribution to the advancement of
electrically-powered vehicles is clear. The
company has achieved an almost cult following and in spite of regular problems
relating to financing, profits and missed delivery schedules, it continues to
be regarded as being a major industry front-runner with all of its vehicles being
highly desirable.
They are
particularly sought after due to their electric operation and therefore green
credentials.
High end cars
In the UK, Tesla is currently offering several models, with Forza providing unique finance solutions for a number of them:
Orders are being taken for the
Roadster which is reputed to have a top speed of 250mph and a charge range in
excess of 600 miles plus a 0-60mph acceleration rate of under 2 seconds.
There may be lead times
associated with some models due partly to their popularity and partly to
well-publicised production delays.
Tesla PCP finance
Although pricing for the Roadster
is yet to be formally confirmed for the UK, it is speculated as being around
£150,000. Tesla-S models are typically priced in the range of £130,000-£135,000.
As such, they will typically
be seen as luxury vehicles and may require special financing packages. Fortunately, we at Forza Finance are standing
by and are able to assist, subject to status, due to our panel of specialist funders
who are specifically interested in supporting the purchase of luxury,
prestigious and performance vehicles.
